A strong commercial career starts with understanding why people make decisions and how those decisions affect a wider business result. The Junior Commercial Executive role gives you practical experience across customer engagement, campaign performance and business development, supported by regular coaching from Sage.

This opportunity is open to graduates, career starters and people bringing experience from a target-based environment. You do not need a formal commercial background. Curiosity, confidence with people and the willingness to review your own results will give you a strong foundation.

The role is full time, on site and works Monday to Friday. You will receive a £25,000 annual base salary plus performance bonuses, with expected total earnings of £35,000 to £45,000 OTE.

Learning the commercial foundations

Your training will begin with the assigned campaign. You will learn the customer proposition, the audience it is designed for and the quality standards that protect both the customer and the client. You will then apply that knowledge through in-person conversations. Your role is to establish whether the service is relevant, explain it accurately and guide interested customers through the approved process. Every outcome must be recorded correctly so the team can understand both activity and results.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Turning activity into insight

Once you are comfortable with the campaign, you will begin looking beyond individual conversations. Coaching will help you understand measures such as activity, conversion and quality, and how they influence one another.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Building accurate knowledge of the campaign and customer offer.
  • Communicating with prospective customers in person.
  • Working towards agreed activity and performance expectations.
  • Maintaining clear records of outcomes and follow-up.
  • Reviewing feedback and applying practical improvements.
  • Sharing recurring customer questions with relevant context.
  • Contributing information during campaign performance reviews.

You may also gain exposure to planning, basic forecasting and the preparation of information used in client discussions. Commercial decisions and contractual commitments remain with authorised managers.

Where the role can lead

Progress comes from showing that you can produce consistent results while protecting the quality of the customer experience. As your judgement develops, you may support newer colleagues, contribute to campaign planning or take on wider responsibility for performance information. There is no fixed promotion timetable. Opportunities depend on your readiness, results and the needs of the business. The purpose of the role is to give you measurable experience that can support progression into commercial, business development or campaign leadership work.

What we value

You should be comfortable starting conversations, working with straightforward figures and discussing what you could improve. We value people who listen carefully, respond well to coaching and maintain their standards when a day becomes challenging.

If you are ready to develop your commercial experience and be recognised for your contribution, apply through LinkedIn with your current CV.
