Overview

This is a permanent, full-time Junior Company Secretarial Assistant role at a commodities company based in London, paying £35,000 - £40,000. The role is hybrid, with three days a week in the office (9am - 6pm) and two days working from home.

The business operates at the highest levels of corporate governance, and this role sits right at the centre of that. You will be supporting board and committee administration, managing diaries and meetings, taking minutes, and handling statutory compliance work - all in an environment where the people across the table from you are CxOs and senior executives. This is not a role where you can stay in the background: you will be expected to communicate directly and calmly with very senior stakeholders from early on. For the right person - someone with strong academic grounding, a composed manner, and genuine ambition in governance - it is an exceptional place to build a career.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting board and committee meetings end-to-end, including preparation, minute-taking, and follow-up
  • Managing diaries and coordinating meetings for senior stakeholders
  • Handling statutory compliance and company secretarial administration
  • Engaging directly with CxO-level and board-level individuals as a matter of routine
  • Supporting the wider company secretarial team on governance matters

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Team and Culture

  • A small, senior-facing team where standards are high and attention to detail is taken seriously
  • Direct exposure to board-level governance from day one, not after years of working up to it
  • A long-term career path in governance for someone who wants to grow in the field

Challenges

  • Errors happen in front of the most senior people in the business, including the CEO. The role rewards composure and honest recovery, not perfection under no pressure.
  • The stakeholder environment is demanding. Executives move fast and expect clear, confident responses from everyone in the room, regardless of seniority.
  • The hours are fixed at 9am - 6pm on office days, and the pace of board cycles means workload is not always evenly distributed.
