Purpose of the Role
You'll be part of the team that keeps the business safe from financial crime. That means supporting our Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Know Your Customer (KYC), Know Your Business (KYB), and transaction monitoring work. You'll help onboard customers, carry out due diligence checks, and monitor transactions, making sure we stay compliant with regulations, internal policies, and procedures. This role reports to the Group Head of Risk & Compliance.
What you’ll do day to day
AML & Customer Onboarding:
- Reviewing AML documentation against our policies and complete risk assessments on new and re-opened clients
- Carrying out due diligence on customers using databases, screening tools, and PEP/sanctions lists
- Monitoring existing clients on an ongoing basis and carry out enhanced due diligence (EDD) for higher-risk clients
Ongoing Monitoring & Periodic Reviews:
- Conducting periodic reviews of existing clients, keep clear records, and write up findings

Transaction Monitoring:
- Investigating alerts to identify suspicious or unusual activity
- Identifying unusual or potentially suspicious patterns and escalate where appropriate
Cross-Functional Support:
- Working closely with internal teams to keep communication clear and tasks resolved on time
Who you are
Essential — You Must Have:
- Circa 1 years experience in a compliance/AML role with demonstrated experience with KYB/KYC processes (e.g., reviewing CDD/EDD packs, completing risk assessments, making risk-based onboarding decisions) and/or transaction monitoring (e.g., investigating alerts, identifying suspicious patterns, documenting findings for escalation)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
- Working knowledge of GSuite and Microsoft Office
Desirable — These will set you apart:
- PEP & Sanctions Screening (practical use of screening tools (e.g., World-Check, Dow Jones, ComplyAdvantage, or equivalent) including resolution of true/false positive matches
- Experience working in a fintech, payments, or e-money environment (or any fast-paced, high-growth setting)
- Familiarity with UK and/or EU regulatory frameworks (e.g., MLRs 2017, FCA expectations, JMLSG guidance, AMLD5/6, EBA Guidelines on AML/CFT, PSD2 obligations)
- Professional certifications such as ICA or CAMS (not essential — we value practical experience)
