Junior Cost Controller
Job Type: Contract
IR35 Status: Inside IR35
Start date: ASAP – Subject to clearance
Duration: 12 Months
Pay rate: £22/hr to £25/hr Umbrella
Location: Cumbria & North East
Hybrid/Remote Working: Remote position with rare travel
Hours of work: 37.5 Hours per week
Role information:
- The Junior Cost Controller will support the Manager of Project Controls, Cost Controllers and Project Managers in the effective financial control and monitoring of projects.
- The role will provide accurate and timely project cost information to support project delivery and decision-making. The Junior Cost Controller will assist in monitoring project budgets, commitments, actual costs and forecasts, ensuring that project financial information is maintained accurately and consistently throughout the project lifecycle.
- The role will support the preparation of monthly project cost reports, variance analysis, forecasts and management information, while working closely with Project Delivery, Finance, Commercial, Procurement and Project Controls.

Qualifications/Experience Required

- Numerical confidence: The ability to work comfortably with budgets, costs, forecasts and financial information.
- Organisation: The ability to manage multiple activities and meet regular monthly reporting deadlines.

- Problem solving: A structured and logical approach to investigating discrepancies and finding solutions.
- Communication: The ability to communicate effectively with Finance, Project Delivery, Procurement, Commercial and Project Controls.

- Process discipline: The ability to follow established financial and project controls processes consistently.
- Stakeholder management: The ability to build positive working relationships and obtain information from colleagues across the organisation.
