Role Description
The Junior Cyber Security Engineer role is a part-time, remote position focused on supporting client engagements and internal security initiatives.
Day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Assisting with security assessments
- Contributing to vulnerability identification and tracking
- Helping implement security controls across applications, networks, and cloud environments

The role involves working with senior engineers to review configurations, document findings, and support the remediation of identified risks. The Junior Cyber Security Engineer will also help prepare reports and recommendations, maintain security documentation, and contribute to continuous improvement of security processes and tooling.

This position offers exposure to a broad range of industries and technologies while working closely with experienced consultants.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Cybersecurity and Information Security principles, including risk management and secure design practices.
- Skills in Application Security, such as understanding common vulnerabilities (e.g., OWASP Top 10) and secure coding or review practices.
- Knowledge of Network Security concepts, including firewalls, VPNs, segmentation, and basic network protocols.
- Experience or training in Vulnerability Assessment, including using scanning tools and assisting with analysis and remediation planning.
- Relevant education or certifications (e.g., degree in Computer Science, Cyber Security, or related field; CompTIA Security+, CySA+, or equivalent) are beneficial.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and their security services is an advantage.
- Ability to learn quickly, follow structured processes, and document technical findings clearly for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a remote consulting environment.
