Junior Data Analyst
The Role
XCM is looking for a Junior Data Analyst to join our growing team. This is a great opportunity for someone early in their analytics career to build hands-on experience across SQL, reporting, and campaign insight.
We're looking for someone with some working knowledge of SQL, solid Excel skills, and a genuine interest in using data to understand performance. You'll work across a range of sectors including Retail, Sports, and Gaming, supporting industry-leading brands with clear, actionable insights.
You'll be part of a collaborative and supportive team, working closely with Data Analysts, the Client Team, and wider stakeholders. You'll get hands-on training and mentorship as you help answer business questions, measure campaign performance, and support clients in making data-driven decisions.
This role is ideal for someone who's keen to learn, has great communication skills, enjoys problem-solving with data, and wants to develop their skills in a fast-moving, supportive environment.
What You'll Be Doing
- Supporting end-to-end analysis for client and internal requests, from quick-turn insight to deeper performance reviews — with guidance from senior team members
- Using SQL to extract and work with datasets, building confidence with more complex queries over time
- Helping build and maintain visual reporting and insight outputs using XCM's Horizon BI tool
- Supporting the measurement of performance and ROI across online and offline marketing activity
- Assisting with analysis of customer and campaign behaviour across channels including Email, Web & onsite behaviour, SMS, Direct mail and Social & engagement trends
- Reporting on marketing and customer KPIs such as leads, conversion rate, traffic, engagement, and revenue impact
- Contributing to insight and recommendations that feed into campaign optimisation and planning
- Supporting BAU reporting schedules and helping with ad-hoc analysis requests
- Helping create clear, visually impactful outputs (reports, decks, dashboards)
- Contributing to larger analytical projects and roadmap work as part of the wider team
- Sharing insight with colleagues, with opportunities to build confidence presenting to clients over time

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
