Junior Data Analyst & BI Developer
We are seeking a highly motivated Junior Data Analyst & BI Developer to join our growing Business Intelligence team in the collection, analysis, visualisation, and reporting of business data to enable informed decision-making across the organisation.
Reporting directly to the Project Controls & Compliance Lead, this role will play a critical part in supporting the delivery of the organisation's digital transformation and analytics strategy.
The successful candidate will support both business and project delivery teams in creating scalable data solutions.
The role combines data analysis, dashboard development, data quality assurance, and reporting automation using Microsoft Power BI and modern data platforms.
The successful candidate will work closely with business stakeholders to convert data into meaningful insights, develop interactive dashboards, maintain reporting solutions, and support continuous improvement of data quality, governance, and business intelligence capabilities.
This is an ideal role for an early-career professional looking to develop expertise in data analytics, Power BI development, Microsoft Fabric, and enterprise reporting.
Responsibilities
Data Analysis
- Collect, cleanse, transform, and validate data from multiple business systems.
- Perform data analysis to identify trends, patterns, risks, and opportunities.
- Produce regular and ad-hoc analytical reports.
- Support root cause analysis and performance investigations.

Business Intelligence Development
- Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports.
- Create DAX measures, calculated columns, and implement business KPIs as directed.
- Assist in designing semantic data models and reporting datasets.
- Support report optimisation and performance improvements.
Data Management
- Conduct routine data quality checks and validation activities.
- Support master data governance processes.
- Document data definitions, business rules, and reporting standards.
- Assist in maintaining data dictionaries and reporting catalogues.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Gather reporting requirements from business users.
- Translate business needs into reporting and dashboard solutions.
- Provide user support and training on BI tools and reports.
- Communicate findings clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
Reporting & Automation
- Automate recurring reporting processes where possible.
- Support ETL and data refresh activities.
- Help reduce manual reporting effort through improved BI solutions.
- Contribute to reporting standardisation across departments.

Governance & Compliance
- Follow organisational data governance standards.
- Support GDPR and information security compliance requirements.
- Maintain appropriate documentation for reports and dashboards.
- Participate in audit and assurance activities where required.
Requirements
- Experience with:
- Microsoft Power BI development and dashboard creation.
- Data visualisation principles and reporting best practices.
- Working knowledge of SQL.
- Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, Power Query, Lookups, Data Analysis).
- Understanding of relational databases.
- Basic DAX development.
- Data cleansing and transformation techniques.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to interpret and present business data effectively.
- 2-4 years' experience in a data analyst, reporting analyst, BI analyst, or similar role.
- Experience creating dashboards and reports using Power BI.
- Experience analysing business data and producing actionable insights.
- Experience working with stakeholders to gather reporting requirements.
- Experience using SQL for data extraction and analysis.
- Experience working with large datasets.
