About Spktral
Spktral is a specialist, boutique workforce analytics and pay gap reporting consultancy, working with some well-known brands and organizations. We help them turn their workforce data into meaningful insights that support better people decisions.
We've been working at the forefront of UK pay gap reporting since the legislation was introduced. We're passionate about helping employers get it right through robust analysis, high-quality data, and evidence-based insights. We believe organizations deserve evidence, not assumptions. That's why we've spent almost a decade partnering with organizations to better understand what their workforce data is really telling them.
Unlike most consultancies, we don't use templates or direct “data feeds” to simply produce reports. We work closely with HR, Payroll, Reward, and Leadership teams to audit their data and then understand the organizational factors influencing workforce outcomes.
As UK pay gap reporting legislation continues to evolve, demand for analytical expertise is growing, and so are we.

The Role
Working closely with our expert consultants, you'll audit, validate, and analyze workforce data for some of the UK's leading employers, ensuring it's accurate and ready for meaningful analysis. Over time, you'll gain a deep understanding of the organizational factors influencing workforce outcomes, take on increasingly sophisticated analytical work, and gradually broaden your responsibilities across project delivery.

You'll begin by learning our methodology, auditing workforce data, and producing accurate analytical outputs. During your first year, you'll build confidence in our approach, develop strong analytical capability, and become trusted to deliver increasingly complex analysis.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Auditing, validating, and analyzing client workforce data
- Transforming raw datasets into structured analytical models
- Investigating data quality issues, identifying, and resolving anomalies
- Producing accurate statistical analysis and quality checking outputs
- Learning UK/ROI/EU pay gap reporting methodology and legislation
- Developing insight into workforce trends and organizational outcomes
- Supporting the development of our analytical methodologies and tools
- Continuously developing your technical and analytical expertise
With experience, you'll develop towards becoming an independent consultant, capable of interpreting complex workforce data, supporting clients, and contributing to the continued growth of Spktral.
What You’ll Learn:

What We’re Looking For:
- Advanced Excel skills and confidence working with large, complex datasets
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- A methodical approach with the ability to think critically
- Meticulous attention to detail
- A genuine interest in understanding the "why" behind data
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- A proactive approach to learning and continuous development
- Experience in a data analysis, audit, statistics, or similar analytical role would be beneficial but not essential
- Experience with R or data visualization tools would be beneficial but isn't essential

Location & Travel Requirements
This role is based in Edinburgh or within a reasonable commuting distance of our Edinburgh office. Working alongside colleagues is an important part of learning and development, so the role is primarily office-based with flexibility to work remotely where appropriate.

Interview Process:
- Introductory call (30-45 minutes, remote)
- Practical analytical exercise
- Final interview with members of the team (up to 90 minutes, in person)
