About the role

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

Our sites run high-density GPU infrastructure around the clock, and the physical layer has to be right every time. As a Junior Data Center Technician you'll build your hands-on skills on real production hardware, working alongside experienced technicians on the shift team.

This is an all-rounder role rather than a specialist one. You'll cover hardware, cabling, and general site operations rather than going deep in a single area, and there's a real path to grow.

Your responsibilities

  • Install and maintain servers, storage systems, networking equipment, and structured cabling alongside more experienced technicians.
  • Replace failed hardware components including drives, fans, PSUs, motherboards, and CPUs.
  • Rack and stack servers, switches, and supporting equipment.
  • Install, route, and label copper and fibre cabling.
  • Test cable and fibre links and help trace faults to the failing component.
  • Handle general site operations work, from receiving and inventorying hardware through to physical site checks.

Your key competencies

  • We're looking for someone with genuine hands-on aptitude and sound operational instincts, even without much data center experience yet.
  • Some hands-on technical or operations experience, in a data center, a comparable critical environment, or an adjacent technical trade.
  • Demonstrated aptitude for hardware work. You're comfortable with component-level tasks and rack and stack.
  • A basic understanding of how a network link works, including copper and fibre cabling.
  • A methodical approach to faults. You work a problem step by step rather than trying things until something changes.
  • Operational discipline. You understand criticality, and you stop and escalate rather than improvising when you're unsure.
  • Ability and willingness to work an on-site shift rotation.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and a broad scope of work.
