IGA Talent is partnered with a leading technology-enabled sustainability and data analytics consultancy to appoint a Junior Data & AI Engineer.
This is an exciting opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career engineer to join a growing organisation in a role that works across AI, data engineering, and sustainability. You'll work on real-world AI and data products used by institutional investors and global organisations, gaining hands-on experience from day one while working alongside experienced engineers.

The Opportunity
Joining a small and highly collaborative engineering team, you'll work on AI and data pipelines that support research, analysis, and decision-making. You'll be given well-defined projects and mentorship from experienced engineers while taking ownership of meaningful work from the outset.

This role is focused on engineering rather than client-facing activities, making it ideal for someone who enjoys writing code, understanding systems, and ensuring outputs are accurate and reliable.
In this role, you will:
- Build and enhance components of data ingestion and AI-enabled assessment pipelines using Python
- Develop tests, validation checks, and monitoring processes to ensure data quality and reliability
- Work with structured data and relational databases, including writing and optimising SQL queries
- Investigate outputs, identify issues, and support the ongoing improvement of data and AI systems
- Build internal tools and automation that improve efficiency across the wider team
- Maintain clear documentation and contribute to engineering best practices
- Develop your technical expertise while working closely with experienced engineers and AI technologies
Who we're looking for:
- A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related quantitative discipline
- Strong Python fundamentals gained through studies, internships, personal projects, or open-source contributions
- Working knowledge of SQL and relational databases
- Familiarity with version control and collaborative software development practices
- An interest in AI technologies and demonstrable experience using AI coding assistants or tools
- A detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy, testing, and problem-solving
- Strong communication skills and a willingness to learn from feedback
- Exposure to cloud technologies, large language model APIs, sustainability, or financial markets would be advantageous but is not essential
