Perch Group are searching for a Junior Data Engineer.

At Perch Group, our vision is clear: to lead the UK debt purchase and collection industry by harnessing cutting-edge technology to drive ethical, efficient, and data-driven debt resolution.

Our annual mission is to empower hundreds of thousands of customers to positively engage with and resolve their outstanding debts. We do this through an empathetic and customer-centric approach that is at the heart of our success.

What are we looking for?

We’re looking for a Junior Data Engineer who is eager to learn, curious about data engineering best practices, and excited to be part of an evolving modern data platform.

This role is ideal for someone early in their engineering career who wants hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory, Databricks, and T-SQL, and who is motivated by the opportunity to contribute to our move toward metadata-driven and config-driven data pipelines.

You will work closely with senior and mid-level engineers, learning how scalable data ingestion and transformation frameworks are built, maintained, and automated.

So, what will your day-to-day look like?

Engineering Support & Delivery

  • Assist in building and maintaining pipelines using Azure Data Factory (ADF) and Databricks.
  • Write basic T-SQL queries for data transformation and validation tasks.
  • Contribute to the development of reusable components and parameterized pipeline elements.
  • Support data modelling tasks by preparing datasets and following established modelling patterns.
  • Help ensure data pipelines run reliably, efficiently, and consistently.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
