🛠️ We’re Hiring: Junior Data Engineer
📍 Remote (United Kingdom)
🕒 Full-Time
💼 Level: Entry-Level / Junior
We’re looking for a motivated and technically minded Junior Data Engineer to help build, maintain, and improve data pipelines, data systems, and infrastructure. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with data, solving technical problems, learning new technologies, and collaborating with engineering and analytics teams in a remote-first environment.
🎯 Key Responsibilities
- Build, maintain, and monitor data pipelines and data workflows
- Collect, process, transform, and validate data from multiple sources
- Support the development and maintenance of ETL/ELT processes
- Write and optimise SQL queries for data extraction and transformation
- Work with databases, data warehouses, and cloud-based data platforms
- Identify and troubleshoot data quality, pipeline, and integration issues
- Monitor data pipelines and investigate failures or unexpected results
- Collaborate with Data Scientists, Data Analysts, Software Engineers, and Product teams
- Assist with data modelling and the development of reliable, scalable data solutions
- Maintain technical documentation for data pipelines, processes, and systems
- Implement data validation and quality checks
- Support improvements to data engineering processes, tools, and workflows
- Stay up to date with modern data engineering technologies and best practices

✅ Requirements
- Entry-Level / Junior (0–2+ years of experience)
- Degree, diploma, bootcamp training, or equivalent practical experience in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field is a plus
- Basic to intermediate knowledge of SQL
- Familiarity with at least one programming language, such as Python, Java, or Scala
- Basic understanding of databases, data structures, and data processing concepts
- Familiarity with ETL/ELT concepts and data pipelines
- Understanding of data quality, validation, and transformation principles
- Familiarity with Git or other version-control systems
- Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud is a plus
- Familiarity with tools such as Airflow, dbt, Spark, Kafka, Snowflake, BigQuery, or similar technologies is a plus
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to learn new technologies quickly
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills
- Comfortable working independently and collaboratively in a remote environment
- Based in the United Kingdom with the legal right to work in the UK
