About the Role
At Haleon, Digital & Technology is transforming how we leverage data, artificial intelligence and advanced analytics to drive innovation across our global business. As part of this transformation, we are expanding our Generative AI capabilities and are seeking a talented Gen AI Data Scientist to help build and deploy next-generation AI solutions at enterprise scale.
This is an exciting opportunity to work at the forefront of Generative AI, developing Large Language Model (LLM)-based applications and agentic AI solutions that solve real business challenges. You will work with cutting-edge technologies, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and play a key role in shaping Haleon's AI strategy and capabilities.
The role is ideally suited to a technically strong Junior Data Scientist with hands-on experience in machine learning, natural language processing, LLMs and AI application development who is passionate about turning innovation into business value.
Key Responsibilities
- Conceptualise, prototype and deploy innovative solutions using state-of-the-art Large Language Models
- Design and build agentic AI workflows using Foundry or equivalent AI orchestration frameworks.
- Improve model performance through prompt engineering, prompt tuning and model fine-tuning techniques.
- Develop scalable evaluation, monitoring and performance measurement pipelines for AI models and agentic systems.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, product teams and technical specialists to define requirements and deliver impactful solutions.
- Apply machine learning and NLP techniques to solve complex business and technical challenges.

Qualifications & Experience
Essential
- MSc or higher qualification in a STEM subject such as Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Physics or a related discipline.
- Strong proficiency in Python and experience developing production-quality code.
- Solid understanding of machine learning concepts, including model training, hyperparameter optimisation, experiment tracking and model evaluation.
- Practical experience working with Large Language Models (LLMs), including GPT models, BERT, Word2Vec, GloVe and related technologies.
- Experience developing solutions using Generative AI, Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Agentic AI techniques.
- Hands-on experience with deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras, Hugging Face and LangChain.
Desirable
- Experience with coding assistants and AI development tools such as Codex, Claude or equivalent technologies.
- Experience working with Microsoft Azure and cloud-based AI services.
- Experience deploying machine learning models and AI applications through REST APIs.
