About Mous

We are Mous. (Pronounced mouse, not moose.) People deserve tech and lifestyle products that are fit for purpose, perform as promised, and empower them to be their best. That’s why we’re building the go-to brand for products that genuinely deliver.

For over 10 years, we’ve pushed product performance to its limits, designing from first principles, validating through real-world testing, and investing millions in R&D. In parallel, we’ve built world-class in-house marketing capabilities, creating highly engaging, performance-led content that proves what our products can do and resonates with a passionate, fast-growing community around the brand.

From throwing phones off dams to launching category-defining products, our ambition is simple: raise the standard of the industry and build one of the most effective consumer brands in the world.

About the Role

We're looking for a Junior Design Engineer to join our growing Product Development team. This is a fantastic entry-level opportunity for a recent engineering or product design graduate who's eager to start a hands-on career developing high-performance consumer products.

This role sits within our Design Engineering team where you'll join a collaborative, fast-paced team responsible for taking new products from concept through to manufacture, supporting a variety of projects and helping to solve technical challenges through CAD, prototyping and testing, all while learning from experienced Design Engineers and Industrial Designers.

You'll work across multiple product categories and stages of development, getting valuable exposure to the full product lifecycle. It's the entry point into our Engineering team, built around guided learning rather than independent ownership of projects.

About You

As a Junior Design Engineer at Mous, you'll be hands-on from day one, from building prototypes, developing CAD, solving engineering problems, and learning how to deliver high-performance, consumer-ready products alongside a collaborative Product Development team.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

We're looking for someone excited to start their career in product development, with a genuine interest in how great products are designed, tested and manufactured. You're proactive, curious, and eager to learn from others, while confident enough to bring your own ideas to the table.

You manage your time effectively, take ownership of your own tasks, and are comfortable asking questions as you build your technical foundation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the design and development of new product concepts through to manufacture
  • Create and iterate CAD models (using SolidWorks) and 2D technical drawings
  • Assist in prototyping, managing in-house builds and coordinating with external vendors
  • Contribute to technical problem-solving during development and testing
  • Support sourcing and supplier interactions for components and prototyping
  • Collaborate closely with international production teams to ensure manufacturability and quality
  • Assist in continuous improvement of internal design processes and documentation

How will success be measured?

  • Quality and accuracy of your CAD designs and prototypes
  • Timely delivery of assigned tasks and project contributions
  • Initiative and engagement in learning Mous's design and development approach
  • Communication and collaboration with design, production and supplier teams
  • Growing ability to work independently on technical problems
  • Contribution to improving product quality and production success rates

Skills requirements:

Hard skills:

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, or Manufacturing Engineering
  • Experience in CAD modelling, preferably SolidWorks
  • Good understanding of the product development process from concept to production
  • Comfortable using Excel and analysing design and test data

Soft skills:

  • Enthusiasm to learn new testing methods
  • Strong communication and time management skills
  • Proactive and curious, with the confidence to bring your own ideas forward
  • Self-motivated and organised by owning your assigned tasks and flags blockers quickly
  • Genuinely hands-on: happy building prototypes, measuring parts and running test rigs, not just modelling on screen
  • Open to occasional international travel to our manufacturing partners in Asia
