Trainee Commercial Kitchen Designer

Job Overview

As a Trainee Commercial Kitchen Designer, you will support the design team in producing high-quality commercial kitchen layouts and technical drawings using Autodesk Revit. The role offers the opportunity to develop technical design skills and gain a comprehensive understanding of commercial kitchen design, equipment, and industry standards through structured training and practical experience.

Working closely with experienced designers, the successful candidate will assist in the delivery of design solutions that meet client requirements while developing the knowledge and skills needed to progress within the business. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is enthusiastic about design, creative, motivated, and eager to learn.

Key Responsibilities

  • With full support and training, assist in producing high-quality Revit project models, drawing packages, including plans, elevations, service drawings, and schedules.
  • Support the management and use of Common Data Environments (CDEs) to ensure project information is organised, coordinated, and accessible.
  • Work closely with Sales and Project Managers to discuss design challenges and develop practical solutions that meet project requirements.
  • Support the Design department and contribute towards developing and maintaining best practice within the team.
  • Collaborate with clients and internal departments, including Sales and Project Management, to ensure effective communication, coordination, and successful project delivery.

Experience Required

  • Experience in commercial kitchen design would be advantageous, but full training and support will be provided.
  • Experience using Autodesk Revit would be advantageous, but training and development support will be provided.
  • Familiarity with Revit or 2D AutoCAD is preferred and experience in both platforms is highly desirable.
  • A keen eye for detail and a commitment to producing accurate, high-quality design work.
  • Ability to manage workloads effectively and work to tight deadlines while maintaining a high standard of quality and accuracy.
  • Effective communication and people skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, clients, and other project stakeholders.
  • Ability to demonstrate initiative, take ownership of tasks, and adopt an initiative-taking approach to day-to-day responsibilities.
