Owen Mumford are looking to hire an enthusiastic Junior Device Technologist! Could this be your next role?

Scope

As the Junior Device Technologist you will join the R&D department to support the testing, evaluation, and stability assessment of medical devices such as auto-injectors, pen injectors, pen needles, and lancing devices. The role is ideal for an early-career engineer or scientist looking to develop expertise in medical device development and testing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support laboratory testing of medical and combination devices under supervision.
  • Assist with functional, mechanical, and stability testing activities.
  • Prepare test samples, set up equipment, and accurately record data.
  • Maintain laboratory equipment and follow quality system procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with senior technologists and project teams.
  • Contribute to the preparation of test protocols, reports, and technical documentation.
  • Support design verification and validation activities.

To Be Successful In This Role, You Will Need

  • Early career experience in a medical device, pharmaceutical, or laboratory environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and data integrity.
  • Willingness to learn regulatory and quality system requirements.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Interpretation of data using analytical and statistical methods. (desirable)
  • Degree in STEM related subject.
  • Early career experience within a regulated or technical environment (desirable)
  • Exposure to ISO 13485 or laboratory quality systems. (desirable)
  • Experience with mechanical testing or laboratory instrumentation. (desirable)
  • Interest in medical devices and combination products. (desirable)
