Company Description
Contract Type: Permanent / 37.5 hours per week
Salary: £30,000 per annum
Location: Smethwick B66 1BY
Days of Work: Monday to Friday 9am - 5:30pm
Hybrid Working: 3 days office based, 2 at home

Job Description
The Junior Digital Designer plays a key role in bringing our brand to life across digital channels. Responsible for producing engaging static brand assets, dynamic animations, and reusable design templates, this role ensures all visual content is aligned with brand guidelines while helping scale our design operations for the wider business.
Key Responsibilities
Static Design & Brand Assets
- Produce high-quality static brand assets, infographics, carousel designs, and digital ad banners tailored for web, social media and paid marketing campaigns.
- Maintain strict adherence to brand guidelines across all deliverables, ensuring consistency in typography, color palettes and overall visual identity.
- Adapt existing design concepts across multiple formats, ratios and digital placements.

Video & Motion Graphics
- Design and animate video graphics, motion ads and animated elements for digital marketing campaigns.
- Storyboard and execute short-form video content optimised for platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn and YouTube.
- Collaborate with the wider team to edit and refine video assets for campaign launches.
Digital Asset Management & Systems
- Maintain and organise the central digital asset library, ensuring files are properly formatted, tagged and easily accessible.
- Design and build reusable, user-friendly social media and digital templates for non-design teams across the business.
- Establish best practices for file management, naming conventions and asset handoff procedures.
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
Essential
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Graphic Design, Digital Design, Visual Communication or a related discipline (or equivalent portfolio experience).
- Strong online portfolio showcasing static digital design, infographics, social media carousels and motion graphics/animation work.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, Premiere Pro or InDesign).
- Experience with digital design tools such as Figma or Canva.
- Solid understanding of digital design principles, grid systems, typography, color theory and visual hierarchy.
- Fundamental understanding of export formats, file compression and technical requirements across various digital and social platforms.
- Demonstrate the core DPD DNA values of Passion, Respect, Honesty, Flexibility, Caring and Accountability.
Desirable
- Basic understanding of UI/UX principles or basic HTML/CSS knowledge.
- Experience setting up and managing template libraries in Figma or Canva.
