Sheffield | £24,000–£27,000 | Full time | Office based
Creativity is the easy bit. Making it work is harder.
We're TEND. We make products that help people manage pain, and we're building the brand from Sheffield. We work with professional athletes, physios and sports teams around the world, but we're still a small business. There aren't six layers of approval or someone handing you a perfectly prepared content calendar every Monday morning. There is, however, a lot happening. And we want someone who can help us capture it — and make something commercially valuable from it.
This is a full-time, office-based role at our Sheffield office. It isn't hybrid or remote. That's deliberate. This is a hands-on role where you'll be filming, spotting opportunities for content, working alongside the wider team and learning quickly from the people around you. We want you in the middle of what's happening rather than joining it on Teams.
The job
At its simplest, we want to make a lot more good content. You'll film products, people, athletes, physios and events. You'll edit short-form video, find stories, try ideas and help us create the sort of things people actually want to watch.
But that's only half the job. Because the world isn't exactly short of people who can make a TikTok. What is much harder to find is someone who can combine creativity with the discipline, organisation and commercial thinking required to make content consistently work for a business.
That's what we want to teach you. You'll learn how to build and manage a content calendar. How to make sure things actually get posted, on the right channels, at the right time. How to keep track of hundreds of pieces of footage and turn them into usable assets. How to coordinate people and shoots. And how to measure what happened after something went live.
Then you'll learn to ask the most important question: Why did that work? Was it the first three seconds? The person in it? The subject? The format? The offer? Did people watch it but not click? Did they click but not buy? Did something that got relatively few views actually generate sales?
We don't want to create content for the sake of creating content. We want to create content that does something.
Creativity + discipline
This is what makes the role interesting. There is a genuinely creative side to it. We want someone with ideas, curiosity and an instinct for what might make somebody stop scrolling.
But you'll also need to be organised. You'll own schedules. Chase things. Label things. Track things. Make lists. Keep our content library usable. Make sure Tuesday's post actually goes out on Tuesday. And notice when something hasn't happened before somebody else has to ask about it.
You'll learn to work to a rhythm: Plan → make → publish → measure → learn → repeat.
Sometimes you'll be out filming something brilliant. Sometimes you'll be sitting at a laptop working out why the brilliant thing you filmed didn't perform. Both are the job. And learning to be good at both will make you a much better marketer.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
What you'll actually do
You'll help own TEND's day-to-day social output across Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn and whatever comes next.
You'll film. A lot. Products. People. Athletes. Physios. Events. Behind the scenes. Interviews. Quick ideas somebody has on a Tuesday morning that we decide to shoot that afternoon.
You'll edit short-form video and learn how to turn one good shoot into multiple useful pieces of content.
You'll manage our content calendar and the practical process behind it: what's being made, what's waiting for approval, what's scheduled, what's live and what needs following up.
You'll make sure we're consistently publishing across every relevant channel rather than endlessly planning to publish.
You'll organise shoots, coordinate with athletes and practitioners, chase UGC and keep our content library organised enough that we can actually find the thing we filmed three months ago.
And you'll track performance. Not because we want you producing endless spreadsheets, but because the numbers teach us what to make next.
You'll work with the wider team across our website, email, paid social and e-commerce, so you'll start to understand how all of those things connect.
We'll teach you the commercial bit
This is probably the biggest opportunity in the role. You'll get to see what happens after you press publish. We'll show you the numbers. What people watched. What they skipped. What they clicked. What sold. What converted. What bombed. What surprised us.
You'll see some of your content used organically and some of it put in front of thousands of people through paid advertising.
You'll start learning the difference between something that gets views and something that builds a brand, generates a lead or sells a product.
Because ultimately, we don't want to teach you how to become someone who's good at making TikToks. We want to teach you how to become a really good commercial marketer who happens to be brilliant at content.
Who we're looking for
We're deliberately hiring this as a junior role. You don't need five years' experience. You don't need to arrive knowing everything about e-commerce. And we're considerably more interested in what you've made, how you think and how you operate than whether you've got exactly the right degree.
You probably are creative and curious. You probably consume far too much social media and have opinions about why some brands are brilliant at it and others are painfully bad.
You're comfortable picking up a phone or camera and actually making something.
But you're also the sort of person who likes getting things done properly. Creative, but organised. Enthusiastic, but disciplined. Full of ideas, but interested in the numbers.
You don't think planning, scheduling and tracking are somebody else's job. You understand that they're part of doing creative work properly.
You won't need somebody standing over you asking whether today's post has gone live.

And when something works, your instinct isn't just to celebrate the views. It's to wonder why it worked and how we can do it again.
What this isn't
It's not an influencer role. It's not a job where you spend your entire week making TikToks. And it's not a traditional graduate scheme where you rotate through departments and spend six months observing before anyone lets you touch anything important.
You'll get real responsibility pretty quickly. You'll make things that work. You'll also make things that don't. We do too. The important bit is having the discipline to measure both — and the curiosity to figure out why.
Why TEND?
We're at an interesting stage. We're small enough that you'll sit close to the decisions and see how a business actually gets built, but established enough that the work you create will genuinely go somewhere.
You'll work alongside our internal team and specialist partners across creative, e-commerce, email, paid media and Amazon.
You'll learn how those pieces fit together — and how an idea goes from "we should make something about this" to a piece of content being seen by thousands of people and, ultimately, generating revenue.
If you're ambitious, there's a lot of room for this role to grow with the business. We don't expect you to arrive as a brilliant commercial marketer. The point is to help you become one.
Salary & timing
£24,000–£27,000 depending on experience. This is a full-time, office-based position in Sheffield. It is not a hybrid or remote role. There'll also be occasional travel for shoots, events and opportunities worth getting a camera in front of.
Applications are open now and close on Friday 9 October 2026. We'll be interviewing shortly after applications close, with the successful candidate starting no later than 7 November 2026.
How to apply
We're deliberately making applying for this job slightly more difficult than clicking a button on LinkedIn. We don't want 500 applications. We'd rather have 30 from people who actually want this job.
So send us your CV and a handwritten note telling us why you'd like to work at TEND. Nothing formal. No corporate cover letter. No need to tell us that you're a "highly motivated individual with a passion for digital marketing." Just tell us, in your own words, why this sounds interesting to you.
And tell us about one piece of content you think is genuinely brilliant. It doesn't have to be yours. Tell us why you think it works — and, importantly, what you think it's trying to get the person watching it to do.
You can drop your application into our office at Sheffield Technology Parks, or put it in the post: TEND [Office / Unit] Sheffield Technology Parks Cooper Buildings Arundel Street Sheffield S1 2NS
And yes, we're genuinely asking you to write the note by hand.
If you've read this far and that sounds like an unnecessarily annoying way to apply for a digital marketing job, we completely understand. If part of you thinks it's quite fun, we'
