Job Description
ALTEN is looking for an experienced Junior Electrical and Mechanical AIT Engineer to support spacecraft and satellite integration activities. The successful candidate will have a solid background in Assembly, Integration and Test (AIT), with experience across both electrical and mechanical disciplines. This role is suited to professionals who have worked on complex space programmes and are comfortable operating within multidisciplinary engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities:
- Perform spacecraft and satellite assembly, integration and test activities.
- Execute electrical integration tasks, including harness installation, equipment integration, electrical testing and troubleshooting.
- Support mechanical integration activities, including subsystem installation, alignment, inspections and mechanical verification.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure the successful integration of spacecraft systems.
- Conduct test procedures, analyse results and support anomaly investigations.
- Ensure all integration and testing activities are carried out in accordance with quality, safety and programme requirements.
- Maintain accurate documentation and reporting throughout the AIT lifecycle.

Qualifications
Required Skills:
- Proven experience within a spacecraft or satellite AIT environment.
- Strong electrical integration and test background, with the ability to support mechanical integration activities.
- Hands-on experience working on complex aerospace or space systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, procedures and test documentation.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to engineering challenges.
Required Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, or equivalent military experience.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience in Electrical and Mechanical AIT within the space or aerospace sector.
- Hands-on experience supporting mechanical assembly and integration activities.
- Knowledge of spacecraft, satellite, or payload integration processes.
- Ability to follow technical procedures, drawings, and test documentation.
- Experience with troubleshooting and fault investigation during integration and test activities.
- Ability to work in cleanroom and controlled engineering environments.
