About The Role
We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Junior Electrical Engineer to join our growing team in Fareham.
This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career Electrical Engineer looking to develop their technical skills and build a long-term career within the building services industry. You will work alongside experienced engineers and multidisciplinary project teams, gaining valuable exposure to a wide range of projects across sectors including healthcare, education, commercial, residential, and industrial.
As a Junior Electrical Engineer, you will support the design and delivery of electrical building services solutions, working closely with senior engineers, project managers, and other disciplines throughout the project lifecycle.
You will receive ongoing support and development, with the opportunity to take increasing responsibility as your knowledge and experience grow.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the design of electrical building services systems for a variety of projects.
- Produce and update electrical drawings, schematics, and technical documentation.
- Support senior engineers with electrical calculations, specifications, and technical reports.
- Assist with the selection and specification of electrical equipment and systems.
- Contribute to the development of coordinated M&E design solutions.
- Review drawings and information from other disciplines to ensure effective coordination.
- Attend project and design meetings where required.
- Liaise with colleagues, clients, contractors, and other project stakeholders.
- Assist with site visits, surveys, and inspections.
- Support the preparation of project documentation and technical submissions.
- Ensure designs comply with relevant British Standards, regulations, and industry guidance.
- Develop an understanding of energy efficiency, low-carbon design, and sustainable building services.
- Work collaboratively with the wider mechanical, electrical, and sustainability teams.

About You
We are looking for someone who is keen to learn, technically minded, and passionate about developing a career in electrical engineering.
Essential
- A degree, HNC/HND, or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- An interest in electrical building services and the construction industry.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Good IT skills and confidence using Microsoft Office.
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- A willingness to learn and develop technical knowledge.
- Good attention to detail and an organized approach to work.
Desirable
- Previous experience within building services, M&E consultancy, or construction.
- Experience using AutoCAD, Revit, or other electrical design software.
- Understanding of electrical building services design.
- Familiarity with relevant British Standards and industry regulations.
- Experience of electrical calculations or design software.
- An interest in sustainable and low-carbon building design.
- Working towards, or an interest in obtaining, professional membership with a relevant engineering institution.
