About The Role
RGB Recruitment seeks a Junior Electrical Design Engineer for a permanent, full-time position in Winchester, Hampshire, offering £25,000 to £30,000 per annum. Joining an established MEP consultancy with over four decades of experience, you will support electrical design across diverse sectors, including residential, commercial, and heritage projects.
Working within a team of roughly 28 staff, your duties will involve producing drawings, calculations, and specifications under senior guidance. This role suits someone early in their career, keen to develop technical skills on projects ranging from single homes to large developments. A relevant qualification and foundational knowledge of electrical systems are expected, with proficiency in design software advantageous.

The Company
An established Mechanical, Electrical and Public Health consultancy based near Winchester is looking to expand its electrical engineering team with the appointment of a Junior Electrical Design Engineer.
Established for over 40 years, the consultancy has a team of around 28 staff and works across London, the Home Counties, and the South of England. The business delivers MEP consultancy services across a varied project portfolio, ranging from individual residential properties through to developments in excess of £100m.

Residential makes up a significant proportion of the workload, alongside commercial, healthcare, education, leisure, industrial, and heritage projects. The business has an established team of electrical and mechanical/public health engineers, supported by a dedicated CAD department.
The Role
As a Junior Electrical Design Engineer, you will work alongside experienced engineers and gain exposure to a broad range of electrical building services projects.
The role will involve assisting with electrical design, producing drawings and calculations, and supporting the wider engineering team throughout the design process. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their technical skills and build a long-term career within an established consultancy.
The business is committed to developing its staff and has previously provided training to support career progression.
Requirements
- Relevant degree, HNC, HND, or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering
- Some experience within electrical building services design
- An understanding of electrical design principles
- Good communication and organizational skills
- Keen to develop technically and progress within the industry
- Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team
- AutoCAD and/or Revit experience would be beneficial
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential
