Junior Electrical Engineer
Location: Croydon or London
Salary: Competitive, depending on experience
Job Type: Full-time
About the Company
We are an established building services and engineering consultancy delivering projects across a range of sectors, including commercial, residential, healthcare, education, leisure and industrial.
The business provides mechanical, electrical and public health engineering services, with a focus on practical design, energy efficiency and sustainable engineering solutions. The team works closely with clients, architects, contractors and other consultants to deliver projects from initial design through to construction.
The company has a strong track record of staff retention, with a number of long-standing members of the team having progressed their careers within the business. The current Managing Director is a great example of this progression, having originally joined the company as an engineer before moving into senior leadership.
The Role
We are looking for a Junior Electrical Engineer with previous industry experience to join the team.
This is a junior-level position, but it is not a graduate or entry-level role. The successful candidate will have already gained professional experience in electrical engineering and be comfortable contributing to live projects.

You will work alongside experienced engineers across a variety of building services projects, with responsibilities including:
- Supporting the design of electrical building services systems.
- Producing electrical calculations, drawings and technical documentation.
- Working on systems including lighting, small power, fire alarms and emergency power.
- Assisting with surveys, site visits and inspections.
- Coordinating electrical designs with other engineering disciplines.
- Liaising with clients, contractors and project teams.
- Supporting projects through design and construction stages.
- Developing your technical knowledge and taking on increasing responsibility.
About You
We are looking for someone who has already worked in an electrical engineering role, ideally within building services, consultancy or a related environment.
You will ideally have:
- Previous professional experience in electrical engineering.
- A relevant electrical engineering qualification.
- An understanding of electrical building services design.
- Knowledge of relevant UK standards and regulations.
- Experience with AutoCAD; Revit/BIM experience would be beneficial.
- Good technical and communication skills.
- The ability to work both independently and as part of a wider team.
- A genuine interest in developing your career within building services engineering.
