Junior Project Engineer / Project Engineer
We are looking for a Junior Project Engineer / Project Engineer to support the delivery of a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project.
Working closely with the Project Director and Site Manager, you will provide technical and project support across the site, helping to maintain accurate project information, coordinate technical documentation and assist with day-to-day engineering and delivery activities.
This is a hands-on opportunity for someone with an engineering or technical background who wants to develop their experience within the renewable energy and BESS sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Project Director and Site Manager with day-to-day technical and project activities.
- Collect, review and maintain site and project data, ensuring information is accurate and up to date.
- Assist with the preparation, organisation and management of technical documentation, drawings, reports and project records.
- Support the project team with data entry and document control, ensuring information is correctly recorded and easily accessible.
- Review engineering information and identify missing, inconsistent or incorrect data.
- Assist with tracking project actions, technical queries, design changes and outstanding information.
- Coordinate with engineering, construction, commissioning and subcontractor teams to obtain required technical information.
- Assist with reviewing drawings, specifications, schedules and technical documentation.
- Support the Site Manager with recording and monitoring site activities, progress and technical issues.
- Help maintain project trackers covering progress, technical queries, inspections, documentation and deliverables.
- Assist with compiling information for project reports and progress meetings.
- Support the management of RFIs, technical queries and site issues, escalating matters where required.
- Assist with checking that works are being carried out in accordance with approved drawings, specifications and project requirements.
- Help gather and organise information required for inspections, testing and commissioning activities.
- Maintain accurate records of changes, site information and project correspondence.
- Support the wider project team with general engineering and technical tasks as required.

Requirements
- Engineering, electrical, mechanical, energy or another relevant technical background.
- Previous experience within a construction, engineering, energy or infrastructure environment is desirable.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately with technical information and data.
- Comfortable working with Excel, project trackers and technical documentation.
- Ability to understand engineering drawings, specifications and technical information.
- Good organisational and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with both site-based and office-based project teams.
- Proactive approach with a willingness to learn and take responsibility.
- Ability to identify issues or discrepancies in project information and raise them with the appropriate team member.
- A degree, HNC/HND, apprenticeship or equivalent technical qualification in an engineering-related discipline would be advantageous.
