Assistant Engineering Geologist : Leeds

An exciting opportunity has become available for an Assistant Engineering Geologist to join a well-established ground investigation and geotechnical consultancy based in Leeds. This role offers the chance to work on a wide variety of residential, commercial, infrastructure, and industrial projects across the UK while developing your technical and site experience within a supportive team.

The successful Assistant Engineering Geologist will split their time between site work and office-based reporting, gaining exposure to every stage of ground investigation projects.

The Role

  • Supervising ground investigation works, including drilling rigs and trial pits.
  • Logging soil and rock to current industry standards.
  • Collecting soil, rock, and groundwater samples.
  • Carrying out in-situ testing and monitoring installations.
  • Factual reporting and assisting with interpretative reports.
  • Liaising with contractors and clients on site.
  • Supporting geotechnical and geoenvironmental project delivery.

Requirements

  • MEng in Engineering Geology or a closely related discipline.
  • Previous site investigation experience through employment or placements is desirable.
  • Strong communication and report writing skills.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • A willingness to work outdoors and travel to sites across the region.
  • A positive attitude and eagerness to develop within the engineering geology sector.
