Role Overview
We are looking for a motivated Junior Enterprise Developer / Junior Software Developer who is keen to learn and grow. In this role, you’ll help develop and improve the systems that keep the business running. You’ll work with data, integrations, automation, and collaboration tools such as JIRA and Confluence, gaining experience across a wide range of technologies.

Responsibilities Will Include
Development & Automation
- Write simple scripts or small features in the programming languages you’re learning.
- Help maintain and enhance internal tools and automations.
- Support small frontend fixes when needed (training provided).
Working With Data
- Help extract, clean, and organise data from business systems.
- Support the creation of structured data for dashboards, workflows, or reports.
- Assist with data checks and help resolve inconsistencies.
Systems Integration
- Work with senior developers to build or maintain integrations between systems.
- Help with tasks involving APIs, scheduled scripts, or small data pipelines.
- Learn how internal systems talk to each other and how to keep them reliable.
Supporting JIRA & Confluence
- Help maintain project boards, fields, templates, and structures.
- Support automation rules, workflow changes, or synchronisation processes.
- Assist teams with organising and improving their JIRA/Confluence usage.
You don’t need to be an expert yet.
We value enthusiasm, curiosity, and a willingness to grow over deep technical expertise.
Required
Qualifications and Experience:
- Some experience with at least one programming language (Python or JavaScript are especially useful, but any solid foundation is fine.)
- Eagerness to learn new languages and tools as needed.
- Basic understanding of SQL or interest in learning how to work with databases.
- Familiarity with APIs (or willingness to learn how REST APIs and JSON work).
- Willingness to work with JIRA & Confluence, with full support and training provided.
- Basic Git usage (committing, branching, pull requests) — or willingness to learn.

- Some exposure to Python, JavaScript, or another backend language.

Note: Due to the nature of work undertaken at SubSea Craft, the selected candidate must be capable of meeting the security requirements of the position, which would include as a minimum existing right to live and work in the UK, Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS), with UK National security clearance required for certain roles.*
