Role Description
The Junior Estimator role is a full-time, on-site position based in Latimer (HP5). In this role, the Junior Estimator supports the preparation of cost estimates and quotations for passive fire protection projects, including fire stopping and fire door installations and remedial works.

Day-to-Day Tasks:

- Reviewing drawings and specifications
- Gathering material and labor costs
- Assisting with site surveys
- Helping to prepare tender documents and reports
The Junior Estimator collaborates closely with project managers, surveyors, and the operations team to ensure accurate pricing and alignment with industry standards and company procedures. The role also involves maintaining accurate records, updating databases, and supporting continuous improvement in estimating processes.
Qualifications
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and survey reports related to construction or fire protection.
- Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail in cost calculations and measurements.
- Proficiency with spreadsheet and office software (e.g., Excel, Word) and willingness to learn estimating or project management tools.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills for collaborating with internal teams and preparing clear documentation.
- Organizational and time-management skills, including the ability to manage multiple estimates and meet deadlines.
- Interest in or basic knowledge of passive fire protection, building regulations, and health and safety requirements (training provided).
- Ability to work on-site in Latimer and occasionally attend client locations or project sites as required.
- Relevant education or experience in construction, quantity surveying, engineering, or a related field is beneficial but not mandatory.
- Willingness to learn, follow established procedures, and develop professionally within the estimating and fire protection discipline.
