The team delivers end-to-end technical solutions for world premieres, after-parties, experiential activations, photoshoots, press conferences, and outside broadcasts. Services include the design and technical delivery of lighting, LED screens, rigging, scenic elements, and live event infrastructure. Role Description
This full-time Junior Event Technician role is based in the City of Cape Town with a hybrid work arrangement, allowing some tasks to be completed from home. The Junior Event Technician supports the setup, operation, and breakdown of technical equipment for live and virtual events, following senior technicians’ guidance and project plans.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities Include:

- Preparing audio-visual, lighting, and projection equipment
- Assisting with cabling, rigging, and configuration
- Performing basic checks to ensure systems function correctly
- Supporting video conferencing setups
- Monitoring equipment during events
- Responding to technical issues in a timely and professional manner
- Helping maintain inventory
- Keeping equipment in good working order
- Adhering to safety and quality standards
- Collaborating with production, design, and client teams
Qualifications
- Ability to work with Audio Visual (AV) Systems, including basic setup, operation, and support.
- Skills in Troubleshooting common technical issues across event equipment and systems.
- Experience or familiarity with Video Conferencing platforms and related hardware for hybrid events.
- Knowledge of Lighting systems and fixtures used in live events and productions.
- Basic understanding of Projectors, screen setups, and image alignment for events.
- Strong attention to detail, time management, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Good communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional event teams.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as event schedules require.
- Relevant technical certification or diploma in event technology, AV, or a related field is advantageous.
- Physical ability to handle equipment setup and breakdown, observing all safety guidelines.
