Location: Coventry and Nottingham
We are looking to recruit two regional ST3 or above doctors to join our PHEM development programme at TAAS, with one post based at Helimed 53 (Coventry Airport) and one based at Helimed 54 (Nottingham Heliport).
Successful applicants will be provided with an immersive introduction to Prehospital Emergency Medicine including experience with the ambulance service; supervised clinical shifts (car and helicopter) with TAAS; attendance at TAAS training days and clinical discussion meetings; opportunities to undertake research/audit/QIPS/publications and mentorship from experienced PHEM clinicians. The Junior Fellow post provides an opportunity to develop knowledge and experience of PHEM which would be suitable to prepare an application to national subspecialty training or a full-time fellowship post.
This is a voluntary part-time post for a fixed term of 12 months, starting in January 2027.
We particularly encourage applications from candidates who are currently underrepresented in the PHEM workforce by virtue of gender, ethnicity or other protected characteristics.
The full job description and person specification can be found at the link on this advert, or by emailing resourcing@theairambulanceservice.org.uk. Applications should include a letter of approval from your current Educational Supervisor or TPD.[CL1].

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
