Job Summary:
The role of Tillo’s Finance Assistant will contribute significantly to building a finance team that is operationally fit for purpose for a fast growing, Private Equity backed FinTech business. Focusing on delivering excellent service to customers, suppliers & business stakeholders.
Day to day this role will
- Own daily banking reconciliations across group bank accounts in GBP, EUR, USD, and multiple other currencies, spanning several legal entities - ensuring bank balances are understood and accurate, payments are made on time, and inter-company transfers are coded correctly
- Process and reconcile multi-currency transactions at pace, applying sound judgement
- Produce monthly fixed and variable sales invoices across the group, ensuring billing is accurate, timely, and reconciled to the underlying revenue data
- Serve as a trusted first point of contact for finance queries from customers partners, and internal teams - investigating the root cause of discrepancies and implement process change if needed
- Manage accounts payable and receivable across multiple entities, keeping ledgers clean and suppliers and customers informed
- Take full ownership of monthly balance sheet reconciliations across all assigned accounts. You'll be expected to understand what each balance represents, why it moves, and what an anomaly might signal. Where differences arise, you'll dig in, identify the source, and drive resolution
- Prepare month-end journals with accurate supporting schedules and have a clean understanding of the period they relate to
- Support internal and external audit processes with well-organised reconciliations, schedules, and documentation
- Play an active role in process improvement across the finance function. You'll be joining a finance team that is actively using AI to remove friction from day-to-day processes - so that the team spends less time on the manual and more time on the meaningful.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
