Are you an ambitious finance professional looking to take the next step in your career?

We're looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Junior Financial Controller to join our Finance team and play a key role in supporting the financial management of Dartington Trust.

The successful candidate will help ensure accurate financial reporting, maintain robust financial controls, and support budgeting, forecasting, and statutory compliance. The post holder will work closely with budget holders across the organisation, providing financial insight and supporting operational decision-making.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is studying towards (or has recently achieved) a professional accounting qualification and is looking to develop their career towards a Financial Controller position.

About the Role

In this varied role, you will:

  • Support the preparation of monthly management accounts and financial reports.
  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and assist with month-end and year-end processes.
  • Help maintain strong financial controls and ensure compliance with financial policies and statutory requirements.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
  • Monitor budgets and produce financial analysis to support decision-making.
  • Assist with internal and external audits.
  • Work closely with budget holders across the organisation, building strong relationships, providing financial guidance, and supporting informed operational decision-making.
  • Contribute to improving financial systems and processes.
