Junior Product Developer – CAD & Technical
The Role
We are looking for a highly organised, technically capable and fast-working Junior Product Developer to support the development of our clothing brands.
Across the group we produce approximately 1,000 SKUs per year. Much of the range consists of proven carryover products, new colourways, fabric changes and variations of existing styles, alongside approximately 75–125 genuinely new styles each year.
The role will work closely with our Product Developer, translating range plans and product concepts into accurate CADs, tech packs and supplier-ready information.
It is ideal for someone who combines strong technical skills with a commercial understanding of how to work efficiently across a high-volume product range.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and update accurate technical garment CADs / flats using Adobe Illustrator.
- Build, maintain and amend supplier-ready tech packs, including measurements, construction details, BOMs, trims, labelling and artwork placement.
- Produce colourways, fabric variations and seasonal updates efficiently from existing approved styles.
- Support new product development from initial concept through sampling, amendments and approval.
- Review samples against CADs, specifications and approved references, recording clear development comments.
- Maintain accurate product information, style codes, colour codes, development trackers and critical paths.
- Track samples, lab dips, strike-offs, fabrics, trims and approvals, following up with suppliers where required.
- Support fit sessions and ensure agreed changes are accurately reflected in technical documentation.
- Take increasing ownership of straightforward product developments as experience and product knowledge grow.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Speed, Accuracy & Commercial Awareness
This is a high-output role where both speed and accuracy are important. We are looking for someone who can manage a significant number of styles and product updates without compromising the quality of technical information. The successful candidate should be confident working at pace, able to distinguish between straightforward carryover or variation work and genuine new product development, and naturally look for efficient ways to execute repeatable tasks. We value people who are productive and decisive, but who also know when a product requires greater technical attention or clarification.
Required Experience
- Ideally 2 years' relevant commercial experience within apparel product development, technical design, garment technology or a closely related clothing role.
- Strong Adobe Illustrator skills and In-design, particularly technical garment CADs / flats.
- Hands-on experience creating and updating apparel tech packs.
- Good understanding of garment construction, measurements, BOMs, fabrics, trims and manufacturing terminology.
- Ability to translate a garment, brief or product concept into clear technical information for a supplier.
- Strong organisational skills and confidence managing multiple products and priorities simultaneously.
- Good Excel / Google Sheets skills and confidence using product tracking or PLM-style systems.
- Excellent attention to detail combined with a strong working pace.
- Confidence communicating with overseas suppliers and factories.

Desirable Experience
- Experience supporting garment fit sessions and reviewing samples.
- Understanding of grading and garment measurement.
- Experience with print, embroidery, branding and artwork specifications.
- Experience within a multi-brand clothing business or working with overseas manufacturers.
The Person
We are particularly interested in someone who is fast, methodical, commercially minded and keen to progress. You should enjoy getting through a meaningful volume of work, take pride in accurate technical information and be comfortable working independently once a brief is clear. You will be joining a team where there is genuine scope to grow your responsibility rather than remaining in a purely support-based role.
Growth & Career Progression
Future development is an important part of this role. The initial focus will be on supporting the Product Developer and taking ownership of CAD, technical-pack, carryover and product-development execution. As your knowledge of our brands, products and suppliers develops, we expect the role to broaden. A strong performer will progressively take responsibility for straightforward products from initial CAD and technical pack through sampling, amendments and approval. Over time, there is scope to own increasingly complex developments and build the commercial and technical judgement required for a full Product Developer position.
