Junior Garment Technologist
Location: Manchester

The Role
We are looking for a Junior Garment Technologist to join a leading fashion supplier in Manchester. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their technical knowledge and build a career within garment technology.
Working closely with the design, product development, merchandising, and production teams, you will support the technical development of garments from initial concept through to production, ensuring products meet the required fit, quality, and construction standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the technical development of garments from initial samples through to production.
- Review and comment on samples, measurements, fit, and construction.
- Assist with fit sessions and provide clear technical feedback.
- Prepare and maintain measurement specifications and technical packs.
- Communicate technical comments and amendments to overseas suppliers and manufacturers.
- Follow up on sample development and ensure comments are actioned within agreed timescales.
- Assist with checking garment measurements against specifications.
- Support the approval process for samples, including pre-production and production samples.
- Help identify and resolve quality, fit, and construction issues.
- Work closely with Merchandising, Design, and Product Development teams to ensure products meet customer requirements.
- Maintain accurate technical records and update specifications where required.
- Develop strong working relationships with suppliers and factories.

- Previous experience within Garment Technology, Technical, Product Development, or a similar fashion role is desirable.
- Good understanding of garment construction, fit, and measurements.
- Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach.
- Good communication and organizational skills.
- Confident working with suppliers and internal teams.
- Able to manage multiple products and deadlines.
- Commercially aware with a genuine interest in the fashion industry.
