Junior Garment Technologist Overview
We have an exciting opportunity for a Junior Garment Technologist to join a highly successful fashion supplier. This role will work across multi-product ranges for both Ladieswear and Menswear.
The successful candidate will work closely with the design, merchandising and technical teams, as well as overseas factories and customers, to ensure garments meet the required fit, quality and technical standards throughout the development process.
Junior Garment Technologist Responsibilities
- Create detailed technical packs in collaboration with the design team.
- Attend in-house and customer fit sessions, taking detailed notes and providing accurate fit comments.
- Measure and grade garments and samples, ensuring measurements meet the required specifications.
- Check the initial quality of samples and identify any technical or construction issues.
- Assist with garment development from initial sample through to production.
- Monitor the critical path to ensure key deadlines are met.
- Liaise closely with overseas factories throughout the development process.
- Communicate technical amendments and comments clearly to suppliers and factories.
- Support the wider technical team with day-to-day garment technology requirements.

The ideal Junior Garment Technologist will be educated to degree level in a relevant subject and have previous experience in a similar role.
The successful candidate will be highly self-motivated and organised, with a strong attention to detail and a genuine passion for garment technology and product development. Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with internal teams, customers and overseas factories are essential.
