Junior / Graduate Deployment Engineer | AI Technology | Shrewsbury | Up to £30,000 | Full-time, Office-based

The company
Our client is a fast-growing, British-owned AI company based in Shropshire. Their product is an AI virtual assistant that talks naturally with members of the public. It's already used by organisations in retail, education, hospitality, automotive and the charity sector to answer questions, take bookings and guide people to the right information.
The role
As Deployment Engineer, you'll install and set up the AI system for customers and keep it running smoothly. There are two parts to the system: a server application on Linux and a client application on Windows PCs. Your job is to get them installed, connected and working together.
You'll work from clear, documented instructions, and a development team is on hand whenever you hit something you can't solve. You'll also have AI tools to help you along the way. You'll report directly to the CTO, so you'll learn from the people who built the technology.

What you'll be doing
- Installing and configuring the product on Linux servers and Windows PCs.
- Testing each installation end to end to make sure everything works before handover.
- Keeping an eye on live systems and spotting when something isn't right.
- Troubleshooting common issues and escalating trickier problems to the development team with clear notes.
- Helping improve the installation guides based on what you learn.
What we're looking for
- A graduate in Computing, IT or a related subject, or someone a couple of years into a 1st/2nd line support, IT technician or similar role.
- Some hands-on experience with Linux, whether at work, at university or on your own projects.
- Good working knowledge of Windows.
- A methodical approach: you follow instructions carefully, check your work and write down what you did.
- Genuine drive and curiosity. You're the sort of person who teaches yourself things and wants to progress.
- Good communication skills, including the ability to explain a problem clearly.

Nice to have (but not essential)
- Some exposure to Docker, networking or the command line.
- The ability to read and follow Python code (you won't need to write it).
- Home lab projects, certifications (CompTIA, Microsoft, AWS etc.) or anything else that shows you've gone the extra mile.

Please note: this is a full-time, office-based role in Shrewsbury, so you'll need to be able to commute there five days a week. No travel is required.
