Junior Interaction Designer – Beta Phase Support

Join us as a Junior Interaction Designer to support the design and iteration of digital services during the Beta phase. In this role, you will design user-centred solutions based on research insights while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to:
- Create intuitive user journeys
- Improve task flows
- Enhance usability testing experiences

Key Responsibilities
- Support prototype design and iteration throughout the Beta phase
- Create and refine user journeys, page flows, and task flows based on user insights and research evidence
- Translate user research findings into improved design solutions
- Assist in preparing and updating prototypes using design tools
- Conduct (or support) user testing across multiple service areas
- Collaborate with user researchers, product managers, and developers
- Maintain consistent design patterns and standards
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and iterative design processes
- Work with wider User-Centred Design (UCD) teams to ensure a cohesive user experience
Skills & Experience
Essential
✅ Basic experience or strong understanding of:
- Interaction design/UX design principles
- Designing user flows, wireframes, and low-to-mid fidelity prototypes
- User-centred design (UCD) practices
- Applying user research insights to design decisions
- Agile methodologies

✅ Tools & Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in design tools such as FigJam, Figma, or equivalents
- Experience with prototype tools (e.g., GOV.UK Prototype Kit)
- Basic understanding of web design and usability standards
✅ Communication & Collaboration:
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to take feedback constructively
- Experience working effectively in cross-functional Agile teams
Preferred Qualifications
✅ Relevant degree or coursework in:
- UX Design
- Interaction Design
- Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) or a related field
✅ Portfolio demonstrating work in:
- Design thinking
- User-centred methodologies
✅ Experience in usability testing or research support (advantageous, though not mandatory)
