Company Description
Project Studio is an award-winning interior design studio based in Manchester and founded in 2022 as the Interior Design arm of Project Group. The studio delivers projects across PRS, co-living, co-working, hotels, hospitality, and student accommodation, with a strong focus on context, place, materiality, and craft. The team is known for creating conceptually clear, well-crafted spaces that balance simplicity, quality, and user wellbeing. Project Studio works through close, collaborative relationships with clients, treating each commission as an ongoing conversation and carefully aligning design ambitions with realistic budgets. Every project is approached as unique, with careful observation of the building and its social, cultural, and historic context guiding the design response.
Role Description
This is a full-time, hybrid Junior Interior Designer / Interior Architect role based in Manchester, with some flexibility for work from home. The role involves supporting senior designers across all stages of projects, from concept development and space planning to detailed design and documentation. Daily tasks include:

- Preparing drawings and presentations
- Assisting with FF&E selections
- Producing mood boards and material palettes
- Contributing to design narratives that respond to context and user needs

The team member will coordinate with consultants and suppliers, help maintain project documentation and libraries, and support site visits, surveys, and design reviews. The role also includes assisting with project administration, maintaining clear communication with the internal team, and contributing to a positive, collaborative studio environment.
Qualifications
- Ability to apply Space Planning and Interior Design skills to create functional, user-focused layouts.
- Foundational knowledge of Architecture and Interior Design principles, with an understanding of building context and user experience.
- Competence in producing Construction Drawings and technical documentation to support project delivery.
- Experience or strong interest in FF&E selection, including furniture, finishes, and equipment specification.
- Proficiency in relevant design and documentation software (e.g., AutoCAD/Revit, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar).
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, Architecture, or a closely related field.
- Strong visual and written communication skills, with attention to detail and ability to present design concepts clearly.
- Collaborative mindset, willingness to learn, and ability to manage time effectively in a studio environment.
- Interest in hospitality, co-living, and workplace interiors, and an awareness of materiality, craft, and sustainability.
