HMRC Chief Digital & Information Office is made up of Customer Groups which are working independently towards one common goal. Our role sits within HMRC’s Chief Digital & Information Office (CDIO) Group that deliver in-house solutions for projects and programmes that deal with a broad range of business, technical and operational issues. Job Description

As a Junior IT Delivery Manager, you will be responsible for:
- Supporting Delivery Managers with the delivery of a range of projects of varying scale.
- Supporting the production and maintenance of end-to-end IT delivery plans.
- Supporting the Delivery Managers with reporting and communications.
- Documenting IT risks, issues and dependencies.
- Supporting the Delivery Managers with cost forecasting and tracking throughout the project.
- Building and maintaining effective and collaborative relationships to achieve successful outcomes for the business.
- Being an active member of the Delivery Manager community.
- Working collaboratively with Product Managers, Delivery Managers and wider stakeholders to ensure delivery is aligned with the project scope, requirements, and timeline constraints.
Essential Criteria
The successful candidate will need to demonstrate practical experience working within either an operational or IT environment, with the following:
- Utilising communication skills, using a variety of methods with a range of stakeholders.
- Utilising organisation and planning skills, prioritising your time and work activities to deliver competing demands.
- Supporting others to deliver beneficial outcomes.

Salary and Benefits
Alongside your salary of £31,096, HM Revenue and Customs contributes £9,008 towards you being a member of the Civil Service Defined Benefit Pension scheme. Find out what benefits a Civil Service Pension provides (opens in a new window).

We offer a generous leave allowance, starting at 25 days and increasing by a day for every year of qualifying service up to a maximum of 30 days.

Prior to applications being sifted candidates will be asked to complete an additional IKM assessment. Candidates will be sent details of the assessment once the advert has closed. This assessment is a pass or fail and only those who pass will be considered at the sift stage.
Sift
In the event of a large number of applications being received, an initial sift may be held on the CV.
At full sift all behaviour statements and your CV will be assessed, with the successful candidates being invited to interview.
We may also raise the score required at any stage of the process if we receive a high number of applications.
Interview
The interview will be up to 45 minutes hour in duration and will be held by a 3-person panel. During the panel interview, you will be asked two behaviour-based questions, behaviours outlined below, and experience-based questions.

When answering you will be required to provide a specific instance from your career which demonstrates the, experience or behaviour in question. You would be advised prepare specific examples from you career in advance.
You will be advised to apply the STAR (Situation, Task, Action, Result) technique when delivering examples. You would be encouraged to prepare demonstratable examples of your experience ahead of the interview to ensure meaningfulness and completeness.
Interviews will take place via video link.
