What You Could Be Working On

Future opportunities may include:

  • Developing, testing, and maintaining software applications
  • Building Java-based applications within agile delivery teams
  • Working across backend and frontend technologies to deliver high-quality solutions
  • Developing and integrating REST APIs and microservices
  • Working with databases and cloud technologies
  • Troubleshooting technical issues and supporting defect resolution
  • Applying software engineering best practices to improve quality and maintainability
  • Collaborating with developers, testers, business analysts, and stakeholders to deliver innovative solutions
  • Contributing to the design, development, and deployment of cloud-based applications

Skills & Experience We're Interested In

We're keen to hear from candidates with knowledge or exposure to:

  • Java development and object-oriented programming principles
  • Full-stack development concepts
  • Spring Boot or similar Java frameworks
  • REST APIs and microservices
  • SQL and relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL
  • Git and version control practices
  • AWS or other cloud platforms
  • Agile software development methodologies

Additional Requirements

  • Located in Newcastle or within a 1-hour commutable distance
  • Training is remote and successful candidates after training will be required to attend an office a minimum of 3 days per week
  • Eligible for UK Security Clearance, or able to meet clearance requirements
  • Strong communication, professional, and collaborative skills
  • Enthusiasm for learning and developing within a professional technology environment
  • Immediate availability for full-time training

You do not need extensive commercial experience. We value candidates who have developed their skills through:

  • Coding bootcamps
  • University studies
  • Internships or placements
  • Personal projects
  • Freelance or early-career professional experience
