Junior Lighting Designer

Description

The Lighting Design Department at Imagination has a rich history of delivering groundbreaking, world-class lighting design for some of the most iconic brands in the world.

As a Junior Lighting Designer you will be a part of the team responsible for the physical delivery of our projects, developing lighting drawings as well as helping manage suppliers & schedules. You will be working in a team helping to design for a wide variety of events including Live Music, Corporate Events, Theatre, fixed facilities, or large-scale international Productions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist design teams in developing world-class solutions with lighting design
  • Develop lighting drawings that can be shared with suppliers
  • Develop Lighting Specifications that can be shared with suppliers
  • Maintain relationships with existing suppliers and continuing to broaden our global network of partners
  • Ensure that tasks are delivered within the timeframe agreed
  • Supervise the installation of Lighting Systems
  • Travel to and work on site helping deliver our projects globally
  • Collaborate across disciplines and ensure that project updates and information are communicated in a timely, effective manner
  • Comply with company policies and procedures, for example (but not limited to) ISO documentation, Information Security training
  • Deliver shows onsite alongside freelance programmers and technicians

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

  • Relevant practical experience with a bias for Lighting in similar industries (e.g., theatre/corporate events/festivals/exhibitions) and/or BA Honours Degree in Lighting Design or Technical Production
  • Demonstrate a proficient level of experience in several Lighting Design deliverables - from designing for Live Music, Corporate Events, Theatre, fixed facilities, or large-scale International Productions
  • Proficient knowledge & experience using CAD software, specifically Vectorworks, as well as lighting previsualization software such as GrandMA
  • High proficiency in Google Docs, Microsoft Office, video conferencing applications
  • Be a highly self-motivated team player, with a commitment to quality and professionalism
  • Be articulate and able to communicate and build relationships across our business internally and externally
  • Be extremely organised with meticulous attention to detail
  • Have the ability to deliver under pressure and multitask
  • Willing and able to travel internationally for work, and from time to time work unsociable hours (inc. weekends) for extended periods
