Junior Maintenance Engineer

Location: Chesterfield
Salary: £13.00 to £15.00 per hour + Overtime (1.5x)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:30am to 4:00pm (Days)
Job Type: Full Time, Permanent

Our client is a well-established manufacturing business with a long-standing reputation for quality and innovation. Due to continued growth, they are looking to recruit a Junior Maintenance Engineer to join their friendly and supportive engineering team.

The Role

As a Junior Maintenance Engineer, you'll work alongside experienced engineers, learning the skills required to maintain production equipment and support the smooth running of the manufacturing operation.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on production machinery and equipment.
  • Assisting with reactive maintenance and responding to equipment breakdowns.
  • Working closely with the production team to maximise machine performance and minimise downtime.
  • Ensuring all maintenance activities are completed safely and in line with company procedures.
  • Completing maintenance records and documentation accurately.
  • Developing your engineering knowledge through structured training and hands-on experience.

What We're Looking For

We're keen to hear from candidates who have:

  • A BTEC, NVQ, apprenticeship, or equivalent engineering qualification, or some practical engineering or maintenance experience.
  • A genuine interest in engineering and learning new skills.
  • A positive attitude and strong work ethic.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team.
  • A proactive approach to problem solving.

What's on Offer?
