Are you an Engineering Technician, Utilities Engineer, Maintenance Engineer, or Apprentice-trained Engineer looking for a role where you'll be genuinely supported, developed, and given clear opportunities to progress? The Role

As a Utilities Engineer, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of key site services that keep production running safely and efficiently.

  • Steam generation and distribution
  • Water treatment systems
  • HVAC and temperature control systems
  • Compressed air systems
  • Cooling towers
  • Air handling units
  • Building Management Systems (BMS)
  • Effluent treatment and environmental systems

Working alongside experienced engineers and technical specialists, you'll be involved in maintenance, fault finding, inspections, monitoring activities, and continuous improvement projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the day-to-day operation and maintenance of critical utility systems across the site
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance activities
  • Conduct routine inspections and monitoring checks
  • Assist with fault finding, breakdown response, and repairs
  • Support water treatment, chemical dosing, and effluent processes
  • Operate and monitor plant equipment in line with site procedures
  • Help ensure utility services consistently meet production demands
  • Complete maintenance records, inspections, and compliance documentation
  • Work closely with engineering and production teams to improve site performance
  • Maintain high standards of safety, compliance, and housekeeping

You'll Ideally Have

  • NVQ Level 3 or a recognised Engineering Apprenticeship
  • A strong commitment to health and safety
  • The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and diagrams
  • Good problem-solving skills and a proactive approach
  • Excellent communication skills and the confidence to work with people across the business
  • Strong organisation and time management skills
  • A willingness to learn, develop, and take on new challenges
