Job Purpose

As Junior Management Accountant, you will play a key role in the day-to-day financial operations of GPJ UK. You will support the production of monthly financial statements and learn to translate complex data into meaningful reports for the wider business. Reporting to the Financial Controller, this role offers the chance to develop your commercial acumen while helping the team deliver on local and regional financial objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Month-End

  • Support the month-end process by assisting in the preparation of management accounts and supporting schedules
  • Balance sheet reconciliations
  • Manage intercompany reconciliations and agreements

Treasury & Transactional Support

  • Perform cash revaluations including processing relevant journals
  • Complete weekly bank reconciliations

Governance & Compliance

  • Assist with UK and Foreign VAT reconciliations and filing
  • Assist in the production of annual financial statements, tax packs, and statutory accounts
  • Support audit preparation for all entities, providing documentation and assistance to audit partners as required.

Management Information & Analysis

  • Assist with the production of Management Information dashboards
  • Work with EMEA offices (e.g., Germany, Dubai) to help maintain consistent, best practice across the region.

Ad Hoc & Team Support

  • Assist in monitoring overhead costs against budget and identifying potential cost-saving initiatives
  • Be a finance point of contact for specific Client accounts, proactively tracking project lifecycles to resolve bottlenecks and provide clear, real-time status updates on approvals
  • Provide general support to the Finance team and undertake ad hoc projects to support the Senior Finance Team

About you

You have:

  • A solid grasp of accounting principles, ideally gained through foundational experience in a Finance Assistant or Junior Accounting role
  • Commercial curiosity and a natural interest in how a business operates, with an eagerness to develop the acumen needed to drive financial performance
  • Hands-on experience supporting the month-end process, including assisting in the preparation of management accounts and maintaining financial records
  • A confident and collaborative communicator who enjoys building relationships and is ready to learn how to partner with non-finance and operational teams
  • The ability to explain financial numbers clearly, ensuring that both finance and non-finance colleagues can easily understand the "story" behind the numbers
  • An enquiring mind and a logical approach to problem-solving, with a natural aptitude for spotting trends or discrepancies within data sets
  • Strong time-management and organisational skills, with the ability to work methodically to meet tight month-end deadlines while remaining calm under pressure
  • Meticulous attention to detail, taking pride in ensuring that every report and output is accurate and reliable
  • A proactive self-starter who is comfortable working independently on set tasks but thrives in a team environment where they can learn from senior leadership
  • A strong command of IT systems, specifically Advanced MS Excel or Google Sheets skills (e.g., VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables)
  • An interest in managing and improving information systems and data provision, most likely through a curiosity and understanding of advancing AI usage

Your Background, Skills & Experience:

  • A commercially-driven individual with experience of working in Finance, ideally within an events/ marketing agency
  • ACCA/CIMA/ACA student
  • Experience using Deltek Workbook and Google Workspace AI would be advantageous
