Job Description
We’re recruiting a Junior Management Accountant to be responsible for the production of timely, accurate and relevant management accounts and financial statements whilst ensuring tight internal controls are in place. You will be assigned the management accounts for approximately 6 clients & approximately 3 entities, which will include production of P&Ls, balance sheets, variance analysis, working with the accounts team to set up new bank accounts and own a number of Bank recs.
Core Responsibilities
- Production and review of the Monthly Management Accounts for Clients & Entities
- Ensure monthly reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts including; client reconciliations, prepayments, accruals, payroll and tax related accounts.
- Ensure adequate internal controls are in place to report accurately on operations and ensure that Group processes are implemented and working efficiently.
- To produce the monthly, bi-monthly and quarterly VAT returns and reconciliations.
- To produce the monthly, quarterly and annual EC sales returns and reconciliations.
- To manage, produce and journal all the intercompany charges.
- To produce a full monthly commentary on each Client & Entity, analysing performance against key KPIs.
- Support with the production of year end statutory accounts and work with the auditors during their fieldwork.
- Identify and report any areas of potential risk in a timely manner to the Senior Accountant and Finance Manager.
- Bank reconciliations for several bank accounts.
- Assist with the setup and roll out of new bank accounts.
- Ad hoc financial analysis and investigative tasks.
- Carrying out of such ad-hoc tasks as required by the Senior Management Accountant.

Qualifications
About You
Core Skills
Essential:
- High level of attention to detail and efficiency.
- Strong problem solving capabilities, strong analytical skills, numerate and flexibility to handle multiple tasks concurrently.
- Good technical, organizational and communication skills (both written and verbal).
- Attention to detail and passion for quality, ability to work under pressure and prioritize workload to meet deadlines.
- Continuous learner, seeks growth and improvement.
- Innovative thinking and willingness to investigate new ways of doing things.
Knowledge, Abilities and Qualifications
Essential:
- Part Qualified & Studying towards a Financial Qualification (ACCA/CIMA).
- Strong working knowledge of Excel. Specifically know how to use and setup; VLOOKUPs, SUMIFS & Pivot tables.
- Fully PC literate with a working knowledge of other MS Office packages.
- Aptitude for continual learning and development with different systems applications and multiple software packages.
- Ability to use IT packages, mainly Excel to analyse and manipulate data.
Desirable:
- Used advanced Excel features such as macros or PowerPivot.
- A working knowledge of financial systems of PeopleSoft, Hyperion Reporting Solutions or similar.
- Previous recruitment or similar industry background.

Additional Information
At AGS we operate a hybrid working policy – we recognise individuals want the flexibility of working from home but with the option to be in an office when needed. Our UK AGS office locations are Bracknell, London and Birmingham with client site locations across the UK. If you’re lucky enough to be within a commutable distance of one of our AGS collaborative offices, this will be your allocated work home but you’ll still have the piece of mind to flex your working week accordingly. On occasion some of our job adverts will state an in-office/on-site need but rest assured you’ll be with a wonderful team to work, develop and grow.
