I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Experience fit
Your summer at the bank plus your econometrics coursework map directly to the day-one responsibilities on this scheme — client modelling, market briefings, and deal support.
Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
The Person
This role is far more about attitude, energy and commercial awareness than years of experience.
We're looking for someone who:
- Has a degree in Marketing, Business, Communications or a related field
- Has marketing experience within medical devices, healthcare technology, capital equipment, dental equipment or a comparable technical industry
- Is commercially aware and understands how marketing supports revenue growth
- Enjoys working closely with sales teams
- Is proactive, resourceful and willing to take ownership
- Doesn't mind getting involved in the day-to-day operational side of events and marketing activity
- Is comfortable working independently within a small team environment
- Has excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Is happy travelling throughout the UK and Ireland, including occasional overnight stays
Why Join?
This is a fantastic opportunity for an early-career marketer who wants exposure far beyond a typical Marketing Executive position.

Rather than being responsible for just one area of marketing, you'll gain exposure to the full marketing mix, working closely with sales, leadership teams and customers across the UK & Ireland.
You'll be trusted to take the lead on projects, contribute ideas, make decisions and see the direct impact of your work on business growth. For an ambitious marketer looking to accelerate their development, it's an opportunity to gain experience that would typically take years to acquire in a larger organisation.
