💷 £30,000–£35,000 depending on experience

Caladen Consulting is looking for two Junior M&E Asset Surveyors to join our growing team.
This is a hands-on, site-based role focused on M&E asset surveys, asset tagging, asset verification, and condition assessments across a diverse range of buildings and estates throughout the UK.
You’ll work alongside experienced surveyors and engineers, developing a strong practical understanding of building services while helping us deliver accurate, high-quality asset data for our clients.
What you’ll be doing
- Identifying and recording mechanical and electrical plant and equipment
- Undertaking M&E asset tagging and asset verification surveys
- Assessing and recording the condition of building services assets
- Capturing equipment details, nameplate information, photographs, and other technical data
- Reviewing and validating existing asset registers
- Using tablet-based surveying and asset management software
- Working systematically through plant rooms, roof areas, risers, service areas, and other operational spaces
- Supporting the production of accurate asset registers and condition survey reports

Our surveys take place across the UK, so this role involves regular travel and will occasionally require overnight stays away from home. Business mileage, hotel accommodation, and subsistence costs associated with that travel will be covered in full by Caladen Consulting.
What we’re looking for
- A relevant building services, mechanical, electrical, engineering, construction, facilities management, or other technical qualification, or equivalent practical experience
- A basic understanding of mechanical and electrical building services and the ability to recognise common plant and equipment
- Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to collecting technical information
- Confidence working in operational buildings and building-services environments
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Competence with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Previous experience using Asseticom, GoReport, Mobiess, or similar asset surveying/data capture software would be useful, but is not essential
- Previous experience of asset surveying, asset tagging, condition surveying, facilities management, or building services would be advantageous
- A full UK driving licence and access to your own car for business travel
- A willingness to travel extensively across the UK, including occasional overnight stays
- The existing right to work in the UK
- The ability to satisfy BPSS screening requirements
- The willingness and ability to undergo an Enhanced DBS check where required for client or site access, including work across education and healthcare estates
