About This Role

R4 is a media trading, planning, and activation business built around how media actually works in the real world.

The Junior Media Planner role exists to support the delivery of accurate, audience-led media plans while developing the skills required to operate as a fully-fledged planner within a performance-led agency.

Working closely with Media Planners, Media Traders, and the Activation team, you will support the creation of media plans, manage data inputs, liaise with media owners, and ensure planning outputs are accurate, timely, and commercially sound. This is a development role with clear expectations, structured learning, and defined progression.

You will need:

  • 1–2 years’ experience in a media agency, in-house media team, or relevant placement
  • Basic understanding of media planning principles
  • Interest in audience-led planning and real-world media behavior
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Confidence working with numbers, spreadsheets, and schedules
  • Ability to work to deadlines and follow defined processes
  • Clear communication skills and willingness to ask questions
  • Comfortable working within systems and workflows
  • You must be reliable, organized, and open to feedback.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
