Junior Merchandiser

Role Profile

About you

  • Proven experience at either Junior Merchandiser level or as an Assistant Merchandiser looking to make the next step
  • Experience in Fashion Retail business with ecommerce, own brand and wholesale channels
  • Proactive with strong numerical and analytical skills and a track record of delivery to deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills and proven ability to build relationships internally and externally at all levels.
  • Strong IT skills, in particular, Excel and other MS Office applications.
  • Comfortable working in a faced-paced environment and able to work in a flexibly when priorities change quickly
  • Ideal candidate will have Shopify analytics experience

Responsibilities

Trade

  • Own the company trade pack, ensure we are reporting all relevant metrics and data integrity is met
  • Weekly trade review of sales, stock and margin performance identifying opportunities and risk across departments
  • Driving trading actions to optimise sales opportunity and risk to the business weekly
  • Carry out ad hoc analysis to support commercial trade actions across the business

Planning

  • Lessons learnt ownership, analysing performance across departments (brand groups)
  • Working closely with the Managing Director and Buying to range plan for each channel
  • Contribute to sign off seasonal strategy, collating information for sign off packs, preparing for seasonal range and buy sign offs in partnership with Buying and the Managing Director
  • Own sizing of own-brand orders and order sheets to supplier group
  • Own the re-ordering and forecasting of key NOS range for the business in the branded Wholesale area, ensuring strong availability and consistent negotiations of cost
  • Own the Merchandising calendar for the business, ensuring best practice is followed efficiently
  • Support the building and monitoring of budgets (OTB), tracking spend against plan and flagging variances

Intake

  • Oversee phasing of product into the business, giving relevant insight on key calendar moments
  • Managing intake closely with the warehouse, prioritising intake into the business and forecasting accurate intake levels in collaboration with the admin team member

Markdown

  • Review, propose and implement markdown and promotional activity
  • Own actioning seasonal Markdowns across departments in partnership with Buying
  • Assist with management of sample sales, pop-up events etc.
  • Support the planning and execution of sale events, ensuring pricing and stock changes are actioned accurately and on time
