Role: Junior Merchandiser

Salary: £28,000 per annum

Hours: Monday - Friday 8:30am - 17:00pm

Location: Stonehouse, GL10 3EZ

Hybrid (2-3 days in the office per week)

What will the Junior Merchandiser role entail?

In this role, you'll support our merchandisers and buyers to manage the full product life cycle, from selection to forecasting and stock management. Ensuring we have the right products in the right quantities, at the right time.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Monitoring stock levels, sales performance and key KPIs, making recommendations to the wider Buying Team
  • Supporting the management of availability, profitability, stock days, markdowns and SKU performance
  • Analysing sales and stock trends to help inform future buying and range decisions
  • Supporting the development and planning of product ranges, considering commercial and financial requirements
  • Assisting with accurate stock forecasting based on sales trends and supplier performance
  • Raising and managing supplier orders, ensuring documentation and invoices are accurately recorded
  • Maintaining order trackers and proactively highlighting any delays or issues
  • Building strong relationships with suppliers to ensure orders are placed and delivered on time
  • Producing regular stock and sales reports and sharing key insights with the Merchandiser/Buyer
  • Working closely with teams across Buying, Accounts, Sales, Customer Services, Ecommerce, B2C and Warehouse
  • Supporting with supplier meetings, trade shows and customer visits when required
  • Managing product samples, including receiving, organising, sorting and maintaining samples within the warehouse.
  • Providing general administrative support and ensuring records and documentation are kept accurate and up to date

What are we looking for in a Junior Merchandiser?

We are looking for someone who has experience of working in a buying or merchandising department, either as an assistant or a junior merchandiser, who is ready to build upon their existing skills and knowledge, or looking for a new challenge. You'll be familiar with forecasting, seasonal trends, and handling large sets of product data.

  • Experience working within a merchandising or buying environment
  • Strong excel skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs and formulas
  • Excellent analytical and numerical skills, with the ability to interpret large amounts of data
  • Strong organisational and prioritisation skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Confident communication skills
  • An understanding of forecasting, budgeting and sales/purchasing
  • An understanding of critical paths and project management would be beneficial
