Salary: Salary and benefits will be negotiated in line with relevant experience and qualifications.
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
The purpose of this role is to support the efficient operation of the Physical Metallurgical Laboratory through the execution of metallurgical analyses, technical investigations, research, and quality assurance activities. The Metallurgist will conduct routine and advanced testing on a variety of sample types, assist with research and development initiatives, and provide technical support to manufacturing operations to enable informed decision-making and continuous improvement within the refining and fabrication processes.

- Conduct routine metallurgical analyses on various samples in accordance with operational requirements.
- Support the day-to-day operation of the Physical Metallurgical Laboratory.
- Monitor laboratory consumables, maintain stock levels, and obtain supplier quotations when required.
- Perform daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly physical stock counts of precious metals and other valuable materials.
- Plan, conduct, and report on metallurgical test work and technical investigations.
- Monitor and report on project progress in a timely manner.
- Research and evaluate new technologies to improve laboratory performance and manufacturing processes.
- Produce technical reports, scopes of work, standard operating procedures, and laboratory manuals.
- Maintain document management processes and records within the laboratory.
- Ensure compliance with ISO 9001:2015 standards and laboratory quality requirements.
- Monitor equipment performance and ensure equipment operates according to specification.
