About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented Junior Middle Office Analyst to support our new trading team.

Main Responsibilities

Trading/Execution:

  • Assist with order routing, monitoring, and execution across Discretionary Portfolio Management (DPM) and Execution-Only (XO) business lines.
  • Provide trading desk coverage and order execution support during team holidays and peak trading windows.
  • Assist in monitoring execution quality, preparing Transaction Cost Analysis (TCA) reports, and assembling board packs for the Best Execution Committee.
  • Support ad-hoc reporting requests for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support the setup and instrument onboarding processes for new financial products.
  • Utilise internal Python and SQL tools to monitor trading activity and resolve complex client execution inquiries.
  • Maintain daily operational communication with market counterparties, brokers, and custodians.

Middle Office, Treasury & Settlements:

  • Facilitate daily trade matching, affirmation, and settlement instruction dispatch to custodians.
  • Execute daily treasury operations, including bank payment processing, liquidity transfers, and ledger maintenance.
  • Proactively investigate and resolve daily cash, stock, and position reconciliation breaks with back-office teams.
  • Monitor trade settlement status and liaise directly with counterparties to resolve failed trades or operational exceptions.
  • Track and manage corporate action notifications to ensure accurate position adjustments in client accounts.
  • Assist back-office teams with trade-related calculations and adjustments.

Education & Technical Skills

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a quantitative, scientific, or financial discipline (e.g., Computer Science, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, or Finance).
  • Good understanding of functioning of financial markets.
  • Good knowledge of ETFs.
  • Advanced MS Excel skills (data manipulation, financial modeling formulas).
  • Working knowledge or academic experience in Python and SQL for data analysis and scripting.
  • Exposure to financial market data terminals (Bloomberg Terminal or Refinitiv/Eikon) is advantageous.

Competencies & Mindset

  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong operational risk awareness when handling financial transfers.
  • Strong numerical aptitude and logical problem-solving skills.
  • Clear communication skills for effective stakeholder management across front, middle, and back-office teams.
  • Proactive interest in automating operational workflows using technical scripting.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Based in Milan or London.
